Biography

I have been as artist all of my life, beginning with fine arts on canvas. Since 1984, I have been using china and porcelain as my “canvas” to create home fashions and most particularly jewelry designs that are very unique and individual, just as we are. The old fashion art of china painted was taught to me by a dear old lady, Violet Hertal, who has since passed away. And some of the more contemporary techniques I self-taught myself, such as the wire wrapping of the pieces in gold and silver for an unusual style that is all my own. It seems that I am ever expanding my line as I stumble across something new each time I open my kiln. And I have to give credit to my husband for the shell jewelry line, as it was his prompting me whenever we travel to incorporate them into my designs. On a personal note, I am a mother of 3 wonderful children. They will always come first before my business. I work in my home studio to facilitate the best family circumstances for our family. I teach bible study in our local church to a Christian interdenominational group of women called W.O.W. (Women Of the Word). My personal life verse committed to memory is “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5,6 from the Bible. Up to this time, the way I display my line is at the arts and crafts shows around my hometown area. Hope to see you at one of them!
